All the major brands of cars like General Motors, Hyundai, Nissan, Ford etc have reported high sales of the new cars in America. All of them wanted a better gas mileage car. The new car sales in America suddenly increased 11% for the GM, 16% for the Ford, 23% for Honda and 27% for Nissan. The demand was more for the new small car with better efficiency and crossovers. The GM increased its sales by the new Chevrolet Cruze which was well received small car all around the world. The car posted 80% gain over its precursor Cobalt. The increase in sales was one of the largest over any GM model in the past few months. All of these cheap new cars in the market are very popular amongst youngsters.
According to ford, people switched towards smaller cars because they were more fuel efficient because of their rising gasoline prices. Even the sales of the new Fiesta jumped to 56% from the February month. Even the latest Fusion sedan, small SUV also showed gain. The manufacturers were also giving high current car rebates.
The Chryslers 311% sale was increased in the midsize sedans like Chrysler 200. J.D. Powers and associates also said that nearly a quarter of the cars sold to the individuals buyers were mostly the compact and the subcompact cars. People are more depended on small efficient cars because of the rise in the price of gasoline. The national average price of the gas for gal was $3.58, it’s considered as the highest price in the year.
Many buyers who are in search of cheap and budget car insurance are investing for the cars made in Japan like the Toyota’s Prius and Honda’s Fit subcompact. Toyota initiated the Prius production but few of the dealers in America have given out the popular hybrid cars. Prius sale was increased to 52% in the march because few buyers thought of shortage after the recent earthquakes.
The midsize crossover also sustained to be the hot seller in the March. Sale of the Chevy Equinox increased to 17% while that of GMC Terrain jumped to 29%. But GM said that it has cut it incentives by nearly $600 to $800 in the March month. GM also said it’s going to provide cheapest car insurance very soon.
Other automakers like Kia Motors America, Honda Motor Co. sales, Nissan Motor sales and even the Hyundai motor America sales rose to more than 25% on average.
