workfromhome.co.uk is the brainchild of Rachel Constantine, who felt there was no one-stop information site that met her needs.
Constantine said: “I work at home myself and when I was looking for information on decorating a home office and the latest work at home jobs and tips, there was nothing out there good enough so I decided to create a website myself.”
Statistics from the UK Labour Force Survey show that working from home is growing in popularity, increasing at an average rate of 13.7 per cent each year. The home-based workforce varies from people working from home just one or two days per week to those who work at home full-time.
www.workfromhome.co.uk will keep home-based workers up to date with all the latest news relevant to them and includes practical guidance on a variety of key topics, from how to avoid work-at-home scams to designing an effective workspace and running your home office in an environmentally friendly way. Constantine explains: “Most people who work from home find it liberating to be able to manage their own time and workload but it can also occasionally be isolating and a bit lonely. That’s why we’re going to be launching a forum shortly too. Talking online to other home-based workers, bouncing ideas around and just chatting about your day is a great way to sane and productive.”
Constantine concludes: “Working from home is a dream for many people and there’s never been a better time to do it.
