UK Blogger Turns Author With Release of His Debut Novel
His fantasy world of Elenchera may have been ten years in the making but author David M. Brown feels his first novel – Fezariu’s Epiphany – shows the work was worthwhile.

Fezariu’s Epiphany by David M. Brown may be the latest fantasy novel to hit the shelves but the author hopes it will offer something a little different.
“I’d like to think that this book shows that a story can take place in a fantasy setting but still be compelling reading for someone who isn’t necessarily a fantasy fiction fan,” David says. “I used Elenchera as a setting for Fezariu’s Epiphany but it’s the story, rather than the setting, that really drives the novel.”
The story revolves around the main character, Fezariu, who suffers a terrible betrayal as a young boy that leads him to turn his back on his family. He joins the Merelax Mercenaries, convinced that their way of life will offer him a way to avoid any ties and leave his past firmly behind. In his quest to prove himself, he is forced to forge new alliances in order to survive the dangerous assignments in the colonies but works hard to distance himself emotionally. Despite his determined focus to move on his thoughts are constantly drawn back to Clarendon where the White Oak, an infamous brothel, holds the secret to his past and the childhood friend he abandoned still remains.
David spent a decade creating his fictional world of Elenchera and boasts an impressive 2000+ pages of events, 47,000+ years of history and 500+ hand-drawn maps.
Despite his commitment to his fictional world of Elenchera, David has also run his ‘The World According to Dave’ blog for the past 12 months and intends to continue posting regularly.
Fezariu’s Epiphany is his first novel. David is currently working on his second, A World Apart and anticipates release in 2013.

David M. Brown was born in Barnsley in 1982 and first conceived the idea of Elenchera in college. His love of history and English led him to read these subjects at Huddersfield University. David is inspired by medieval history, Norse mythology and Japanese role-playing video games and anime films. He lives in Huddersfield with his wife Donna and their six rescue cats.
