About the speakers
Peyman Mestchian - Managing Partner at Chartis
Peyman is Managing Partner at Chartis, overseeing research strategy, key commercial relationships and advisory services.
Previously, Peyman was the CEO of Risk Technology International (RiskTech) where he led the development of this international consulting firm with significant presence in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle-East and Africa. Before joining RiskTech, Peyman was the Global Head of the Enterprise Risk Management Practice at SAS covering credit risk, market risk, operational risk and financial crime solutions. Peyman was instrumental in setting strategy and leading the execution of a global business plan which generated $100m+ of revenues in 2006 and included over 120 Basel II wins across the world.
Before joining SAS, Peyman was a Director of the Business Risk Consulting practice at Ernst & Young (London), and a member of Ernst & Young's global taskforce for developing new products and solutions for addressing enterprise risk management. Over the last 15 years, Peyman has been involved in numerous board-level consulting and implementation projects establishing risk management systems for leading banks, insurance companies and industrial organizations.
Peyman has acted as lead advisor in a number of the high profile mergers and acquisitions in the risk technology space. His special area of interest and research is the application of information technology to risk management, and he is an established thought leader and writer on the subject.
Gaurav Kapoor - Chief Operating Officer, MetricStream
As Chief Operating Officer of MetricStream, Gaurav has overall responsibility for Sales, Marketing, Customer Advocacy and the Partner Ecosystem. Until 2010, he served as the CFO of the company and the General Manager of GRC. He has held various positions at MetricStream since inception and has been instrumental in shaping key strategic initiatives that have helped MetricStream become a global leader in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC).
During his tenure, he has led MetricStream's financial strategy as well as Sales, Marketing and Partnerships. He founded ComplianceOnline.com that has grown to become a leading online GRC community and content property.
Gaurav spent nearly a decade in marketing, finance & operating roles with Citigroup. He is a thought leader in the GRC space and is a regular speaker at key forums such as the IIA, Ops Risk, PRIMIA and ISACA.. He also works closely with federal and state policy makers, and serves on the advisory boards of other technology and media companies.
