IIM Kozhikode to hold event on spreading new ideas
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode is organizing an independent TEDx event on July 9, 2011. It is the first IIM to advance ideas in close collaboration with TED and thus explore different paths to spread knowledge and learning.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode is organizing an independent TEDx event on July 9, 2011. It is the first IIM to advance ideas in close collaboration with TED and thus explore different paths to spread knowledge and learning. On this great occasion, it will host renowned speakers from different walks of life like Dr. Kiran Bedi, Dr. Palash Sen, Harsh Manglik, Satinath Sarangi, Gaurav Kapoor and many more distinguished personalities.
This one day event will comprise a series of inspirational as well as cogitative talks by 12 speakers including a performance by the celebrated rock band in the country, Euphoria.
According to IIM Kozhikode, the event will also see a huge participation from corporate leaders, academicians, students and alumni alike.
TED is a 25 year old non-profit organization devoted to ‘Ideas worth Spreading’. It has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. In the past annual TED Conference, the list of speakers included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Pranav Mistry, Shashi Tharoor, Harsha Bhogle, Shekhar Kapur, Late Prof. C.K. Prahalad, and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown amongst many other eminent personalities. TEDx offers individuals or groups, a way to organize independent, TED-like events; helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
