After the challenges the automotive industry has faced as a result of the recession it isn’t surprising that dealerships have been left uncertain about the future and what can be done to generate interest in spending. Mark Standish at Carlyle Finance commented, “It isn’t enough to expect dealerships to do all the work in generating sales. Rather, we must help each other; it is the responsibility of Carlyle Finance to help deliver sales and long-term growth through being proactive in supporting our dealerships because they are what matter to us”.
Carlyle Finance recognises the importance innovation is playing within the industry and will continue to play in the new financial era we are entering. With careful research and planning in how growth can be delivered to dealerships, Car Loan Adviser was born. “Innovation is what is needed in this marketplace, and innovation is what we got” says Angela Logan at Bridgend Ayr, referring to Carlyle Finance’s latest innovation built to enhance dealer sales.
Carlyle Finance is the proud owner of the successful and innovative finance information website- http://www.carloanadviser.com and this is one of many unique ways Carlyle Finance has supported the growth of its customers – the motor dealer.
Launched in February 2010 Car Loan Adviser has delivered, to a growing number of customers, the information they need regarding the most suitable method of funding their new car, and has driven significant traffic to dealers’ own websites. Alongside the successful launch of the Car Loan Adviser website was the launch of something special. Carlyle Finance supplied selected dealerships with an interactive booth that allowed customers to understand their finance options through clear videos and a loan comparator calculator, all whilst in the dealership.
Although this is something that had never been done before, the launch has been a huge success with dealerships keen to get the booths set up in their showrooms. Recognising the uniqueness displayed by Car Loan Adviser and the amount of potential sales that can be created as a result were just some of the reasons dealerships were keen to welcome the booths.
Wright’s Car Centre in the Wirral is one of the selected dealerships to receive the CLA booth. Robert Tyrer says, “The booth is a brilliant idea that is exclusive to Carlyle Finance. We were excited to bring it into our showroom as we feel it provides great innovation in helping us attract customers. So far it has been a success and we know it will further support delivering high service standards to our customers”.
Whilst the CLA booth has been a winner at larger dealerships, Richard at Richard Nash Group in Norwich commented, “The booth would also work very well in smaller dealerships because it acts as a virtual salesman, especially helpful when extra sales support is needed whilst you are busy with customers”.
Not only has Car Loan Adviser been the talking point for many of Carlyle Finance’s dealerships but it has generated talk amongst their customers. Mike Bell at Imperial Cars of Swanwick commented, “Many customers know the various types of loans they can obtain but have never been offered a comparison in one place. It is a great tool for customers, offering a long awaited simple explanation, and importantly, it looks smart- great for drawing attention! It has undoubtedly drawn customers into the idea that buying a car on finance isn’t as daunting as originally thought”.
Car Loan Adviser has been successful in offering value to customers, something that can be easily forgotten. It’s no surprise that dealerships have taken a liking to the booth, with an interest from customers and undoubtedly more visitors in the showrooms. Angela Logan at Bridgend Ayr went on to comment, “Even dealerships not supplying the Car Loan Advisor booth should take advantage of the website link in drawing customer interest even before they enter the showroom”.
With the proven success so far, Carlyle Finance will ultimately be offering the booths nationally as an option for supportive dealers and will continue to seek ways to deliver innovation and value to the UK market.
Finally Karl Werner, Head of Sales & Marketing for Carlyle Finance, says, ”The pilot for CLA has been a huge success. Inside of the first four months we have five booths working well in the dealers and over 200 direct dealer links to the http://www.carloanadviser.co.uk website. It’s great having an idea that works but even greater when we can prove that extra car and finance deals were done because of it”.
