Mumbai based Ekohealth Management Consultant Pvt Ltd’s Manging Director & CEO Dr Akash S Rajpal has said that Ekohealth will launch discount and saving medical programs in India like no other present anywhere in the globe. Ekohealth has been created with a vision of making healthcare affordable, Dr Rajpal said.
In a press release , Dr Rajpal said , “It is making every attempt to reach out to thousands of consumers, especially the one's who are troubled with out of pocket expenses towards medical bills like the diabetics and patients on renal dialysis to help them find a suitable healthcare provider, be it a Hospital, Diagnostic center or a Chemist who understand their needs and reduce bill amounts by way of discounts and other value additions.”
He adds , “India's population grew by 181 million over the past decade to 1.21bn - but insurance reach is less than 2 percent. A lot of ailments and services are still not covered under insurance. Ekohealth strives to be the biggest member ‘value’ network in the country to create a group bargaining power for consumers not envisioned before.”
Ekohealth though not an insurance product, aims at reducing health expenses and work as an adjunct to insurance or as a respite for those who are not capable of spending high medical expenditure, he clarifies.
Briefing on feedback, Dr Rajpal added, “ We had undertaken a extensive pan-India survey, and feedback is encouraging . People want it to be extended to states like Orissa and Chhatishgarh .
