San Diego, CA, July 14, 2011 -- Susan G. Komen for the Cure, San Diego is proud to announce the addition of Gloriaann Garcia as the Director of Grants & Mission Initiatives. A true reflection of the growth of the local affiliate, Gloriaann will be leading staff efforts in Grant Making, Public Policy and Education and Outreach.

Adding Gloriaann to our team will allow us to focus even more clearly on meeting the needs of San Diego County’s uninsured women and their families.”
Garcia has a comprehensive background in non-profit management and administration having been Executive Director at Partners for Community Access. She has extensive community health experience in direct patient services, establishing culturally appropriate and geographically limited outreach initiatives, and working with advisory councils to strengthen educational and outreach services for cancer-related programs. She has previously worked at The Wellness Community as Associate Director and Director of Professional & Community Outreach; San Diego Youth & Community Services; the American Cancer Society and the Girl Scouts of San Diego-Imperial Council.
