The countdown began to the opening of the new Lord Ashcroft International Business School. It examples how modern business schools are assuming a new focus; the Lord Ashcroft International Business School has led an affirmative way forward and raised the bar in styles of business-school architecture.
Cambridge-based, it is suggestive of a new incentive to place business schools within the foreground of traditionally academic environments.
The architect behind the building, Benedict Zucchi, has created a variety of ‘in-between spaces’, where students can find the informal setting to promote a richer environment in which to study. Balconies, cafes and even foyers have been included in their potential study spaces.
Keeping in theme, London’s BPP Business School has followed a similar route in the structure of their building to create a less formal tone. Staff is required to lecture for no more than 15 minutes at a time and their two-year old building contains only one formal lecture theatre.
It is a change to business strategy learning, with the focus being on student interaction. With a large range of new computers, the significance on interactive learning is great.
Business schools and the practice of MBA business strategy learning is offered in a wide range of establishments.
Brunel Business School, which has cost £28m, will open in April, 2012, inferring that the baby boom of business schools is a long-term trend.
