ebeepbeep Urges Drivers to 'Check Their Oil' or Risk Expensive Repairs

Chester, United Kingdom (July 13, 2011) - ebeepbeep, an online car service and MOT booking website designed to save drivers money, are advising motorists to find the time to lift their car bonnet and check their oil level.
According to car servicing website ebeepbeep.com, 1 in 5 motorists are driving their cars with oil at a dangerously low level. To spread the 'oil check' message, ebeepbeep.com has partnered with Comma Oil. The website is running a series of Oil Check Events, where motorists can have the oil in their car checked and topped-up.
Sighting research from oil supplier, Comma Oil, the website is concerned about the startling number of motorists that are risking expensive repairs by not performing this simple car maintenance task. With the typical repair bill for damage caused by low oil being £1,413, such apathy amongst drivers could be a costly mistake.
"Unfortunately it seems many drivers are completely unaware of the dangers and costs that consistent low oil can cause," commented Andrew Wilson from ebeepbeep. "It only takes five minutes to measure a car's oil level, but we've fallen out of the habit. Yet with oil-related failures estimated to cost British motorists £300 million a year, the importance of regular oil checks can't be overstated."
"So far about 90% of all cars that we've seen at our oil check events have been low on oil, so it's a very real problem," Andrew explains. "Wherever we're running an event, we'd encourage motorists to take five minutes, visit our stand and have their oil level measured. If the oil level is too low, we'll simply provide a complimentary top-up. Hopefully we'll be able to help lots of motorists avoid unnecessary oil related repairs."
