Zamorano Library Announced as UN Food and Agriculture Organization Depository
With one of the most comprehensive agricultural collections in Latin America, The Wilson Popenoe Library Zamorano, has been selected by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization as an official repository.

Tegucigalpa, Honduras, August 22, 2011 -- Leading agricultural university, Zamorano, has been selected as an official depository library by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). FAO selects national libraries, major research libraries or educational institutions with programs that encourage knowledge on nutrition, food and agriculture. Zamorano’s reputation as a leading agricultural university makes it an ideal choice.
The Wilson Popenoe Library Zamorano has one of the most comprehensive agricultural science collections in Latin America with over 18,000 books specializing in agricultural issues. It means the library will receive all print publications from FAO to make available to students, researchers and other people accessing the library.
Zamorano has one of the most complete collections on agriculture and related areas of Latin America. In addition to 18,000 reference books, the library houses 6,500 technical brochures, journals and digital documents. Services include loans, resources and access to databases.
