About Jessie Payo:
Jessie Payo is a quadruple threat: singer, songwriter, actress and dancer — she’s emerging as one of the most gifted artists in the modern music scene. Having just launched her solo career, Ms. Payo is proving to be a sweet-sounding force to be reckoned with. Known for her brilliant vocal ability and poetic songwriting savvy, she can write and wail everything from Top-40 Pop to gritty rock and roll. She’s proof that incredible things can come in adorably small packages.
Jessie’s opened for The Black Eyed Peas, Jason Mraz, Lauryn Hill, Lupe Fiasco, Etta James, and Boyz II Men. And her music has appeared on MTV’s hit series’ “The Hills”, “The City”, “My Super Sweet Sixteen”, ABC’s “Make it or Break it”, FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance”, CBS’s “Criminal Minds”, E!’s “The Daily Ten”, and Disney Channel’s “Halloween Town High”. Jessie also received a Gold Record for her performance on Disney’s “Jump In” soundtrack.
Most recently, Jessie wrote and performed as the lead singer of the pop-duo JUPITER RISING, where she toured across the country headlining clubs and other renowned venues. Their hit song “Electropop” received over a million plays on MySpace and has been heard on radio stations around the world.
About Olive Us Deserve To Learn:
Olive PR Solutions, Inc. and Feeding the Soul Foundation are partnering to present a yearlong campaign called “Olive Us Deserve To Learn.” These community based events will share one common theme – creative generosity. All the proceeds will benefit The Indigenous Education Foundation of Tanzania (IEFT), a community-collaborative organization, providing quality, affordable education to under-served children in rural Tanzania, East Africa.
The events will range from benefit concerts, to professional speaking engagements, dinners, art exhibitions, and more. Every event will focus on educating the community about the needs of IEFT and how each individual has the power to make a difference.
About Indigenous Education Foundation of Tanzania (IEFT):
IEFT is a community-collaborative organization, providing quality, affordable education to under-served children in rural Tanzania, East Africa. Through the organization’s collaborative model involving both village government and tribal leadership, IEFT staff members work alongside community members in the implementation of the organization’s projects. Straying from the common “aid giving” model, IEFT believes in empowering community members by providing youth with the knowledge and skills to create positive change within their own communities. Education is the key in breaking the cycle of extreme poverty.
Through the development of Orkeeswa Secondary School in the Arusha Region of northern Tanzania, IEFT provides secondary education to children who have no hope of continuing their education past primary school.
About Feeding the Soul Foundation:
The Feeding the Soul Foundation promotes concerts for causes, bringing community together in creative generosity. The foundation promotes local artists, charities and businesses that make a positive difference by creating events that draw attention and opportunity to their talents and intents. Proceeds of each show benefit a different local, national or global charity. Since its formation in March, 2010, the Feeding The Soul Foundation has donated more than $30,000 to organizations that feed the hungry, empower young women through music, promote environmental responsibility, and free slaves around the world.
