Actors Sanjay Dutt, Irrfan Khan and Kangna Ranaut seem to be in top form as they speak about their roles and their upcoming film 'Knock Out'. The dashing three were present at the press conference with director Mani Shankar and Apoorva Lakhia. The movie promises to be an action thriller and is slated to be released on 15th October 2010. With the promos of the movie due to release in theatres and on TV channels on 2nd September, the movie will be backed up by an impressive promotional campaign. The movie stars the likes of Sanjay Dutt, Kangna Ranaut, Irrfan Khan, Gulshan Grover, Rukhsar, Sushant Singh, and a special appearance by Apoorva Lakhia.
Sanjay Dutt, the rockstar who made his debut in ‘Rocky’ exactly 30 years ago has pulled off a wide range of roles in his long career, ranging from the lovable ‘Murali Prasad Sharma’ in Munna Bhai MBBS to the deadly ‘Baloo’ in Khalnayak. Sanju who was seen in his trademark white shirt and blue denims is all pumped for the release of the movie. The movie Knock Out will see Sanjay in a different setting, where he’ll be seen alone in most of the scenes and the veteran actor says that working alone was very challenging even for him.
The outspoken Irrfan Khan was the life of the press conference, with his witty comments and replies to the huge crowd of reporters. He was seen in a casual white jacket and a matching white shirt and white denims. Talking about the now famous scene in the movie trailer where he is seen dancing on the tunes of Katrina’s ‘Zara Zara Touch Me’, Irrfan says that he merely tried to mimic his director Mani Shankar’s dance moves! Apart from doing the playful dance, Irrfan also said that he has enjoyed working with Sanjay Dutt and is eagerly looking forward to the release of the movie.
“This film has nothing to do with the Hollywood blockbuster Phonebooth and is a completely independent screenplay,” says director Mani Shankar, in response to the allegations that the ‘Knock Out’ is a just another rip-off from a Hollywood movie. Meanwhile Bollywood’s delicate darling and fresh from her ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai’ success, Kangna Ranaut was looking all fabulous in a silver dress. When asked about her experience during the movie, Kangna jokingly says that running around in 5 inch heels was quite a job. In the movie, she plays the role of a TV reporter who is seen covering the events in the movie as they happen live. About her glamorous look in the movie, Kangna says that if you are going to be seen by a huge audience on TV, you better look your best! Now we know where all the pretty dresses she wears come from.
