Car Insurance May Not Cover Misfuelling
Large number of car insurance policies in the United Kingdom does not cover mis-fuelling. A hundred thousand cars break down due to mis-fuelling every year in United Kingdom. This denies many motorist of their due insurance amount.

London, UK, 28th September, 2010: According to Defaqto, at least 23 per cent of motor insurance policies do not cover breakdowns as a result of putting the wrong fuel in a vehicle.
This could mean that consumers are faced with a hefty bill, as they may have to pay for the repair of the car or cover the cost of a write-off out of their own pocket.
Out of the 288 motor breakdown policies analysed, 14 per cent did not provide cover for cars that run out of petrol.
Mike Powell, insight analyst for general insurance at the independent research firm, said that consumers need to be aware that there is a large variation in the type of cover that motor breakdown policies provide.
He said: "Fuel related problems are not uncommon and the AA has stated that every year more than 100,000 motorists put the wrong fuel in their car and also that fuel problems are one of the ten most common problems dealt with by their motor breakdown patrols."
The University of Cardiff recently proposed that restrictions should be imposed on young drivers to prevent the number of car accidents caused by them and to lower the cost of car insurance.
The proposals included not allowing youngsters to drive at night or with fellow passengers of a similar age.
