Mentor, USA : Fuel Smart Corporation of Mentor Ohio today announced the introduction of a technological breakthrough for fuel savings in the used car market. Based on the theory of variable displacement, this new, microprocessor-based technology is now in production and will soon be available throughout the U.S. and beyond.
Company CEO, Paul Spivack, said the variable displacement technology has been used by new car manufacturers for a few years, but has not been available for the used car market until now.
Spivack commented “There are currently many things drivers can do to improve their gas mileage slightly. Things like driving more conservatively, making sure you have a clean air filter, tires are properly inflated, installing a free flowing exhaust, using special oil, such as “Amsoil” and other things can definitely help with extra mileage -- but, only to a certain extent. There has never been a product available that can produce the dramatic results of this new microprocessor technology. Our device can save drivers 20% and more.”
Fuel Smart Corporation has a patent-pending on their technology.
The Variable displacement technology is currently being used by several of the auto manufacturers in their new cars. They have been using it over the past few years in order to meet the fuel economy standards mandated by the U.S. government. Of course, the auto manufacturers are only concerned with new cars, so the systems they use to implement the variable displacement vary greatly from the systems used by Fuel Smart Corporation. That difference in systems has allowed Fuel Smart Corporation to be in a very enviable position with their pending patents.
The Fuel Smart system retails for $295 and installation takes about an hour by a qualified factory trained technician. An average driver in the US will save approximately $500 annually in fuel purchases and the system will also make a cars braking system last longer. In addition to monitoring several sensors, the microprocessor controlled system conveniently connects in between the cars ECU and fuel injectors. When it senses a light load or deceleration, it deactivates fuel injectors, but does this with a proprietary algorithm so as to not set off any check engine lights, disrupt any emissions systems or make any discernable engine idle qualities. The patent pending unit is fully designed and made in the USA and comes with a limited two-year warranty.
