Container Company Offers Municipalities an Affordable and Creative New Option to Keep Streets Clean

California-based SECURR has developed an innovative "Cart Garage" waste cart concealment unit ( http://trash-cans.com/trash_can_enclosure_&_trash_can_cart_garage.htm ) that makes it possible to keep refuse hidden away while still being readily available for automated removal. Known as the Cart Garage, the housing unit makes it possible to keep the streets looking clean and attractive while still having the option to use a fully-automated garbage truck.
“Most municipalities currently have two forms of garbage removal,” said Steve Thompson, who is the Director of Marketing and Sales at SECURR. “One is the residential collection, which most often uses rolling poly carts and automated collection vehicles. The other is regular trash and recycling containers ( http://trash-cans.com ) on the streets and parks, which require manual removal.”
Unfortunately for municipalities, manual removal of trash is far more costly than automated removal. At the same time, the poly carts used in automated removal are typically unattractive and create an eyesore within the city.
“On city streets where aesthetics are important, leaving a poly cart on the sidewalk is an undesirable option. If the poly cart is housed inside a Cart Garage, the existing automated collection equipment can be utilized and they have something more presentable to the public,” continued Thompson. “Using a Cart Garage with a poly cart inside could potentially eliminate the manual collection and make all forms of collection automated. This saves time and money while also reducing worker injuries.”
The Cart Garage is available in 32 gallon, 65 gallon and 95 gallon sizes. It is fabricated from galvanized steel. This material is corrosion-resistant and thus capable of maintaining an attractive finish. The unit can be configured with a custom laser-cut logo, advertising panels, or a variety of other panel options. The unit also comes with a poly cart included for a turnkey solution.
