New York, NY, United States (pr4links.com) 02/11/2011
Drs. Gloria & Heidi Horsley on their nationally syndicated talk radio program the “Open to Hope Show” will announce the launch of their new forums.

Open to Hope ( http://www.opentohope.com/ ) offers a new forum for grieving spouses at the end of life-long marriages.

“Until death do us part.” “As long as we both shall live.”

These words, which traditionally begin a marriage, also foretell its end: a spouse in mourning. If half of American marriages end in divorce, the other half – the “successful marriages” – end with a widow or widower standing alone at the marriage’s end and at the beginning of the rest of his or her life.

The Open to Hope ( http://www.opentohope.com/ ) Foundation has created a new online gathering-place for those who have lost their spouses later in life. In this dedicated online forum, Open to Hope invites older widows and widowers to share their particular experiences of loss. Similarly, younger widows and widowers may find discussions of their common concerns and insights in the forum “Loss of a Spouse - under 50.” Naturally, persons of any age are welcome in either forum, because some aspects of grief span all stages of life. Those whose loving relation¬ships were not traditional marriages will find their love and grief honored as well.

The forum for older bereaved spouses will be edited by Paul Bennett, author of the acclaimed book Loving Grief, a profound personal reflection on the experience of love and loss. Paul’s 20-year marriage ended when his wife, Bonnie, died of melanoma at the age of 56. Paul continues to write and speak about the spiritual and emotional path that has opened since Bonnie died.

In this forum, anyone who has lost their life partner can enter into compassionate and informed conversations with others who will listen, share their love and their sadness, and discuss issues. Open to Hope’s overarching intention is that each visitor will realize, “I am not alone.”
