Long Beach CA—As thousands of women head to The Long Beach Convention Center for the Women’s Conference 2010, Lime Green MonkeyÒ, a small eco-business sponsored by WE Invest, will be there with a full regalia of USA made organic cotton hankies.
“We are starting the handkerchief revolution, encouraging people to use cloth hankies instead of disposable tissues. Organic cotton handkerchiefs are better for the environment, a great eco-fashion statement and better for your nose” said Kristin Anderson, owner of Lime Green Monkey.
These are not your ordinary handkerchiefs. Each organic hanky is hand silkscreened with original designs by California artists and made in the USA, on GOTS certified 100% organic cotton (India). Lime Green Monkey will debut its eco-corporate gift program, with 100 hanky minimum orders.
Kristin Anderson, along with Ana Rojas and Talia Wunder are all graduates of the Women’s Economic Venture’s (WEV) Self Employment Training course, a 14-week business training course offered by this non-profit entity with program offerings in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. All three women launched or expanded their businesses after taking the course and are recipients of the WE Invest grant given to WEV. Pamphlets and information about WEV are available at the Lime Green Monkey booth, and all three graduates are eager to share their positive experience with this program.
Ana Rojas of Comfy Commuter will be selling travel pillows she personally designed to bring more comfort to the travel experience. The Comfy Commuter pillow offers total head and neck support and is also available with fleece travel blankets, which double as a wrap. Talia Wunder offers Perfect FitÔ service with her custom jewelry, which includes necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Comfy Commuter, Devone Designs and Lime Green Monkey will donate 10% of all proceeds from their sales at the Women’s Conference to WEV. Visit these businesses at the Women’s Conference Exhibit Hall in the We Invest area space 515.
