Nannybase.com admits it isn't the first nanny ( http://www.Nannybase.com ) profile and job listing service online, but they argue that they will be the best. The nanny database ( http://www.Nannybase.com ), as they call themselves, launched November 1st with a lofty goal - save parents time and provide them with guaranteed experience.
Nannybase.com founder Krista Conway has had her share of nannies over the years. She admits that she has been a customer to some of online nanny resource sites which are now her competition. "We have spent over $1,000 searching for nannies on websites which we now see as our competition. We literally spend 20 to 40 hours per month searching through nanny profiles on these sites only to find mostly late teen and early 20 somethings. When we would attempt to sort the nannies out by experience we discovered that there were hundreds of 19 year olds who had listed themselves as having 8 years of experience. We also discovered that most of the profiles on the site were old, the nannies had found jobs or had decided to take another career path. We spent most of our time emailing and calling nannies who were no longer interested or no longer available for a nanny position.", stated Conway.
Frustrated with the quality of the nannies listed on other sites, Krista set out to find a way to guarantee that families would not be searching through hundreds of old profiles or nannies without experience. Krista continued on to say, "We require that every nanny on our website have at least one year of real experience in a nanny or daycare environment. We are also accepting nannies who have graduated from a nanny or governess school. This means that every nanny on our website is experienced. Qualified nannies don't have to worry about their profiles being buried under inexperienced nanny profiles. Every nanny stands out for the experience they already have and families don't have to dig through stacks of nannies who have no real nanny experience."
Every nanny is reviewed on NannyBase.com ( http://www.Nannybase.com ). If they don't meet the experience requirements, their profile won't go up. Nannies are also required to upload a resume in order to be searchable on the site.
Other features of Nannybase.com include:
- Family pre-screener questionaires that allow families to create a questionaire based on their needs which nannies must complete before they apply. The system rates the nanny based on the families needs and the nannies answers.
- All new jobs are discretely posted to Twitter and Facebook, alerting nannies to new jobs.
- Job and resume email alerts can be created for families and nannies who want the system to tell them when new jobs or nannies become available.
