The makers of GlassPrimer glass paint realize the importance of environmentally safe products, especially in the home. There has been a sustained and well directed push to bring the same level of environmentally conscious regulation to paint as has been levied toward more common building materials such as wood or various types of flooring. This push started with the effort to make paints, and other coatings, meet stringent VOCs guidelines. VOCs stands for Volatile Organic compounds. VOCs are dangerous in large amounts and are considered a carcinogen. The regulation of these compounds has been done in an effort to encourage significantly improved indoor air quality. GlassPrimer ( http://www.glasspaint.com/ ) glass paint has recently been recognized as a VOC compliant coating, but the founder of GlassPrimer, Chris Sommer, knows that's only the beginning.
“At our online ( http://www.glasspaint.com/ ) glass paint store we do our best to educate customers on safe and efficient painting techniques. I've shot several videos myself, illustrating the best way to utilize GlassPrimer glass paint,” Sommer said.
In addition to improved indoor quality, environmentalists have been concentrating on developing better ways to dispose of left over paint. At the forefront of this movement is the American Coatings Association (ACA). They've been able to create a product stewardship program meant to cost effectively deal with left over paint. These stewardship models have already been signed into law in Oregon and California, and the ACA is pushing for it to be adopted nationwide.
Like the ACA, GlassPrimer realizes the need for paint manufacturers to produce ecologically responsible paints that still preform at a high quality. “Here at GlassPrimer making environmentally responsible glass paint and high quality glass paint are not exclusive. Our paint is very effective, it creates a permanent, chemical bond with glass which significantly reduces the amount of glass paint needed,” Sommer explained.
