Madison Heights, MI residents, who are looking to learn both the delicate Japanese art form of Ikebana Flower Arranging and how to expertly perform a Japanese tea ceremony, will appreciate today’s launching of Ikebana Flower Arranging new education and information website, http://www.IkebanaFlowerArranging.com.
“Ikebana Flower Arranging, which incorporates the Japanese tea ceremony in its execution, is an ancient Japanese art form that brings both ‘nature’ and ‘humanity’ in unity,” said Susan Carter, owner of Ikebana Flower Arranging. “And so, with the launch of our new website, we are especially excited about the prospect of it becoming the definitive resource center for anyone interested in both Japanese art forms.”
According to the company’s spokesperson, one of the things that make Ikebana unique from other flower arrangements and designs comes from the emphasis it plays on the leaves and stems of plants. Back in the day, the Japanese tea ceremony, also called the Way of Tea, was a Japanese cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of powdered green tea (called “matcha”). The manner in which it is performed, or the art of its performance, is called “otemae”. Zen Buddhism was a primary influence in the development of the tea ceremony.
At the site, however, Ikebana lovers will find various interesting teaching videos that provide instructions on both of these art forms as well as offering some great deals on Japanese silk kimono.
The site also contains historical information about the three basic forms of Ikebana - Nageire, Shoku, and Moribana. “With the ever growing interest in both Japanese art forms,” said Susan Carter, “we anticipate the site will become a favorite hangout for Ikebana lovers because of this central depository of printed and video resources focusing on Ikebana creation, tea ceremony instructions, and the availability of Japanese silk kimono.”
