The managing Director of OilPro Oil and Gas Limited, Mr Peter Eledan urged the National Assembly to speed up the process of signing the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) into Law without further delay.
Mr Eledan stressed that the bill strives to guaranteetransparency, accountability and promote healthycompetition as it will encourage growth in the Oil and Gas Industry.
The new Bill will inspire Local Companies to participate fully in the management of the country's Oil and Gas resources whichwill invariably leads to wealth and job creation.
Peter Eledan who shed more light on the new bill during teleconference with reporters said, "Only way the government can restore trust and confidence within the national and International communityis to radically put a robust operational regulatory procedure in place through PIB to enable key stakeholders to effective make informed policy decisions that willreposition the NNPC to deliver better service that will aid country's development".
Mr Eledan noted that delay in the passage of the PIB will further slow down operations in the industry as multinational corporations and foreign investors are holding back on their planned to invest in the country's Oil and Gas sector.
