Previous General Manager of The Fulton Steamboat Inn Peter Chiccarine has recently taken the new position of General Manager at The Central Hotel Harrisburg. After helping build the Fulton Steamboat Inn into the elite Lancaster PA hotel it currently is, Peter's management skills were requested to help orchestrate the same successful turnaround at The Central Hotel Harrisburg; a Best Western Premier Hotel.
The Fulton Steamboat Inn was sad to have to let Peter go, but also very optimistic, as his replacement as the new General Manager, Joseph Chiccarine, has plenty of experience successfully running a busy hotel. Peter's brother, and also part owner in the property, Joseph, was sought for his management skills he acquired while working as both the Front Desk Manager of the Water Club and Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Upon graduation from The Pennsylvania State University in May 2008 with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management, Joseph had the opportunity to open a property in Atlantic City, the Water Club as a Shift Manager.
Upon recognizing his superior management and organizational skills, Joseph was promoted to the position of Front Desk Manager of the Water Club and Borgata, Atlantic City's largest and most popular Casino. For the next year, Joseph continued to build his skills as a manager, something he is very passionate about.
When asked why he left the Borgata, an asset the Casino was sad to see go, Joseph stated, "It's always been my dream to work with family and manage a well known hotel in Lancaster PA (it is my hometown after all). I knew after graduating college at Penn State that I was not ready to jump into a role that large and demanding. However, after learning so much from great people at my previous job at the Water Club and Borgata, I now feel ready and excited to take my skills to the next level."
Joseph Chiccarine comes from a long line of hotel owners and managers, from his father Peter Chiccarine (Sr.), part owner and previous manager of the largest and most profitable Lancaster PA hotel, The Eden Resort and Suites, to his older brother Peter Chiccarine (Jr.), once GM of the Fulton Steamboat Inn and now GM of The Central Hotel Harrisburg.
The Fulton Steamboat Inn feels very secure with their new General Manager and looks forward to a very bright and prosperous future with Joseph "steering the ship."
