Apple is a flavour that most of us love and as a flavour in water it is a real success. Aromhuset has previously developed twenty flavours for carbonated water aimed at private consumers and sold in small bottles of 30 ml. These have achieved great success, and people appreciate the rich flavour as well as the fact that they are totally free from sugar, artificial sweeteners and calories. Apple has been a hot item and now the taste has been selected as one of the six to be released in bottles suitable for the workplace.
The other five flavours being launched in pump bottles are pomegranate - for the sophisticated; raspberry, for the summer lover; blueberry - for the nostalgic; melon - for those who prefer the more exotic; and peach - a soft, sweet, Swedish classic.
It is commonly known that drinking plenty of water is important, and we are told to drink between 1 and 2 litres of water every day - even more if we are active or sweating more than normal. Stressful situations, air conditioned offices and running in the corridors all contribute to an increased rate of dehydration. Apart from feeling weak and sluggish when dehydrated our ability to concentrate decreases and we become absent-minded, something Swedens managers realise are not the best prerequisites for effective staff.
It is easy to forget water. When you start to feel a little slow you head for the coffee machine for some refreshing caffeine. Coffee, like tea, is a diuretic and only contributes to dehydration in the body, meaning you get more sluggish the more coffee you drink. This simply creates an evil circle. Of course we do not need to stop drinking coffee, but developing the habit of always drinking water at the same time is good, and perhaps swapping a cup or two of coffee every day for a glass of water instead.
Regular tap water is perhaps not the most inspiring drink to enjoy at the workplace. That is why more and more employers are choosing to put water dispensers in the workplace, so staff can top up their water levels at regular intervals. These dispensers have coolers so the water will always be cold and fresh, and many of them have a separate tap for carbonated water.
