IIM Calcutta reveals criteria for shortlisting candidates for the GD-PI round

IIM Calcutta had declared the shortlist of the candidates to be called for the GD-PI round on the CAT 2010 result day, 12 January 2011. The B-school has now revealed its GD-PI shortlisting criteria.

According to the release issue by the B-school, the shortlisting has been done on the basis of the CAT 2010 score. IIM Calcutta has considered both overall as well as sectional scores for shortlisting the candidates. More details are given below:
Shortlisting Criteria for PGDM
For a General category candidate, the overall CAT 2010 cut off considered was 99.59 percentile.
For clearing the sectional cut offs, a candidate’s scores considered was as follows:
-- 80 out of 150 or 93.38 percentile for Quantitative Ability
-- 79 out of 150 or 93.36 percentile for Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning section
-- 79 out of 150 or 93.33 percentile for Verbal Ability section.
The total cut off score was 282 out of 450.
Candidates whose scores were equal to or more than the sectional cut off scores or those candidates whose overall scores were equal to or more than the cut off scores in the corresponding categories were shortlisted for GD PI.
Shortlisting Criteria for PGDCM
Candidates were shortlisted for GD PI on the basis of CAT 2010 scores, academic performance and relevant work experience.
The overall CAT 2010 percentile cut off considered for the GD PI call was 99.30 for General Category candidates. The sectional cut offs were as follows:
-- 76 out of 150 or 91.13 percentile for Quantitative Ability
-- 76 out of 150 or 91.75 percentile for Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning section
-- 74 out of 150 or 90.86 percentile for Verbal Ability section
The total cut off score is 272 out of 450.
The total score for the PGDCM candidate was computed out of 100 as per the following break up: CAT Score – 75; SSC Marks – 10; HSC Marks – 10; Relevant work experience – 5.
