Which spa is best for me?
Which spa is best for me?
The first and most important is what do you want out of your spa?
Many people simply want to soak away their stress and relax in the hot water. Or perhaps you simply want a focal point for social events or romantic evenings. For this many of your entry level units are sufficient. Typically these have few jets 10-20 and a small pump of around 2-4 Hp.

There are a number of things to consider when purchasing your spa
The first and most important is what do you want out of your spa?
Many people simply want to soak away their stress and relax in the hot water. Or perhaps you simply want a focal point for social events or romantic evenings. For this many of your entry level units are sufficient. Typically these have few jets 10-20 and a small pump of around 2-4 Hp.
If however you are looking for therapy quality massage you need something with 30-50 jets and multiple pumps. Look for horsepower ratings of at least 6-8 on these systems. Lots of jets may look great but unless the Horsepower is there to move the water they will not be very effective. To cloud the issue sometimes dealers will quote the pumps in Kw or Watts. On line conversion web sites can quickly clear this issue up by converting Kw to Brake horsepower.
Another system that is offered is air blowers or air pumps. Some Companies recommend them and some swear you don't want them.
The real reason for this debate actually has less to do with its value as a feature and more to do with the fact that unless the manufacturer has years of experience doing air systems they can be very problematic and cause service issues which ultimately cost the dealer/supplier money.
Air is typically used for soft tissue massage or skin therapy and they work very well. Millions of heated bubbles into the spa will help exfoliate, also the heated air and agitation of the skin causes the blood vessels to dilate helping to flush toxins from the epidural layer. Leading firms also put aromatherapy injectors on the air blower to allow the customer to add aromatherapy essential oils and scents to the air without contaminating the water.
Even a select group of Manufacturers even have super chargers that allow you to divert the heated air into the water jets to change the feel of the jets and increase the massage pressure. If you do choose to go with this option make sure of at least two things. First that the blower has an actual heater element in it to heat the air prior to injecting it into the spa this will prevent the water from being cooled down quickly. Also ensure the blower has an automatic purge system to blow the lines clear when the spa is not in use.
Canadian Spa is the leader, when it comes to air systems, and their delivery, this is standard on all but the silver series.
Who should I buy my spa from?
We believe it should be us Canadian Spa Company has our European Head office and warehouse facility located in the U.K.
Our investment here, combined with _____Costco's reputation as a premium retailer, with a no hassle customer policy is your best guarantee of receiving a quality product at a great value.
Of course Canadian Spa Company is also ISO 9001-2000 accredited ensuring quality and excellence in product and service. A lot of spa retailers/suppliers are simply importers bringing product into the country and reselling it. There is no commitment by the manufacturer for warranty work, Spares, or backup. You are at the whim of the importer.
What should I know about positioning my spa?
When considering the placement of your spa keep in mind the primary and secondary focal points. When you walk into your back garden the first thing you see is the Primary focal point. This may be the spa or another large item like a deck or tree. When you sit in your conservatory or just watching the children in the back garden, the main focus from this point should be the secondary focal point. Make sure the two complement each other. This is accomplished by using similar colors or materials on or near the two focal points. Also take into account wind direction, sun location, and privacy areas. Situate your spa in a convenient area that complements the rest of your garden
Can I sink my spa into a deck and or patio?
While you can do this is involves a lot of planning, construction, and money. You need to ensure adequate drainage so the hole the spa is in does not fill up with rain water. Also you need to create a concrete crypt to house the spa. The easier option is to build your garden up around the spa or deck around the spa. If you are determined to sink the spa contact Canadian Spa Company for more information.
Are there health benefits of owning a spa?
The ancient science of hydrotherapy is proven to relive stress. Stress is one of the biggest obstacles to health and well-being. For muscle and joint pain submersion in hot water not only releases the body's natural endorphins to help fight pain but more importantly relives the stress on joints while increasing the blood flow to damaged areas, internal organs, and muscle tissue.
All Canadian Spa Company spas come standard with a heated air blower and soft tissue skin therapy system. This is achieved by injecting millions of heated air bubbles through hundreds of air jets located in clusters in the floor and seats of the spa to give you an allover soft tissue massage. This action exfoliates the surface of the skin and the gentle heated action helps open the blood vessels to help rejuvenate skin tissue and flush toxins from the epidermal layer.
For centuries man has known of the healing powers of warm water. Before the modern portable spa, people have enjoyed the relief of pain and tension offered by natural hot springs.
Today's spa technology, particularly as developed by Canadian Spa Co., can offer specific therapeutic benefits. Canadian Spa, with its sophisticated reverse moulding technique, can deliver the healing flow of water from the jets to specific spots on the body. These spots, known as pressure points, can lessen or eliminate pain if triggered properly. Canadian Spa Co. exclusive Pressure Point System delivers warm, soothing water to these pressure points. Even if your problem area is in the hard to reach neck or shoulder region, the unique Neck & Shoulder Seat delivers relief like no other spa on the market. And various types of jets allow you to massage different muscles with different water pressure.
Besides Pressure Point Therapy, how else can a Canadian Spa Co. improve your physical and mental well-being? Here are just a few ways :
ARTHRITIS
Painful or inflamed joints cause muscles to tense in an effort to protect them. Warm water and hydrotherapy help relax the muscles and allow greater range of motion in the joints. Pain is often reduced, even after leaving the spa.
BUOYANCY
When submerged in water your body is about 1/10 its normal weight. Buoyancy is a key element of relaxation and stress relief. It helps overcome the effects of gravity and relieves stress on the joints.
EXERCISE
Exercising can cause microscopic tears in the muscle and lactic acid build up. The warm massaging action of a spa will accelerate the healing process, and allows the lactic acid to be carried away from the muscles. As muscles relax and pain eases you move more easily with less pain.
SLEEP
Warm swirling water reduces stress and allows you to rest and get better night’s sleep. Sleep deepens as body temperature drops. Experts recommend that people who suffer from sleeplessness soak in a spa at 38 to 40 degrees C for 15 minutes before bedtime.
PAIN RELIEF
Endorphins are natural painkillers for the body. Warm water stimulates their release. When the body is in warm water, blood vessels near the skin relax, allowing more blood to flow, bringing endorphins and nutrients to damaged cells.
Canadian Spas are designed for hydrotherapy from head to toe. All jets are adjustable and interchangeable to allow you to dial in the exact level of therapy with a simple twist of a faceplate. Because the therapy pumps are dual speed you can choose a soft, gentle massage or a vigorous massage. No other spa on the market can compare to the quality or variety of the therapy you get with Canadian Spa Co.
What do I need to do before I receive my spa?
Your spa is a self-contained unit and does not require a water supply or waste. It simply fills and drains with a standard garden hose. It can be placed on any flat, level, stable surface such as interlocking stones, patio stones or concrete plinth. You require access to the spas final resting place. The spa is delivered as one piece and cannot be dismantled. Access must be large enough to get the spa and lifting equipment through. You will also require a 20 amp line ran directly from the mains with a dedicated RCD.
Before taking delivery ensure you have a copy of the pre delivery instructions available from Canadian Spa Company, these will detail what is required.
