Bio-Microbics Inc., a global manufacturer of decentralized wastewater, water and stormwater treatment technologies, is pleased to announce that Shroffs Engineering Ltd. will do business as 'Bio-Microbics® India' to focus on addressing India's most challenging water issues.
Bio-Microbics India will focus on industries relating to residential construction, multi-family/small communities, villages, commercial properties for sewage treatment; municipal storm water systems; as well as marine sanitation applications; water treatment, and service maintenance in the India market.
Bio-Microbics India will conduct training workshops for its FAST® advanced wastewater treatment systems and BioBarrier® Membrane BioReactor (MBR) technologies to better educate about best management practices. For high strength sewage treatment plants (HS-STP™) using decentralized systems, such as the MyFAST®, are recognized as a lower cost alternative and more energy-efficient for commercial properties, small communities, and villages [Frost & Sullivan].

As reported by Water & Wastes Digest: "The Indian market for environmental services is set to grow to a total volume of 3.2 billion Euros by 2013. Increasing urbanization and greater environmental consciousness in India are leading to a growing demand for modern environmental technologies and services." Bio-Microbics India will exhibit at the upcoming Aquatech India Show, booth #2003A, which takes place April 8 to 10, 2013 in Delhi, NCR.

This announcement is on the heels of finalizing the Ministry of Urban Development's "Manual on Sewerage and Sewage Treatment" for India. Promoting the guidelines for Decentralized Wastewater Management (which Bio-Microbics India products can address), the Manual keeps in mind "the National Urban Sanitation Policy of [the] Government of India. The guidelines consider the implementation, operation/maintenance, and management aspects of achieving total sanitation - instead of focusing merely on underground sewerage system[s]." This total approach to sanitation treatment with respect to "safe management of municipal wastewater" signifies India's importance in "achieving the objective of minimizing environmental pollution."
