The McMahon & Winters Law Firm is pleased to announce that Michael T. Winters was presented with the Lancaster Bar Association Michael G. Nast Award on December 12, 2013. This award is presented annually to a member of the Lancaster Bar Association who exemplifies a passion for law, life and pro bono volunteer services on behalf of those low-income community members in need of legal advice. The annual presentation occurs in conjunction with the 2013 Volunteer Attorney Program Awards and is given in memory of attorney Mike Nast whose life and spirit continue to inspire all who knew him.

Michael T. Winters possesses a lifelong interest in the rule of law. He served his community as a police officer for six years prior to law school. On graduating, Mike was admitted to the bar in 1996 and since that time has been a faithful participant in the Lancaster Bar Association Volunteer Attorney Program, where he helps those in need with a wide array of pro bono cases. Most recently, his volunteer services have been focused on representing Protection from Abuse petitioners. As resources for victims of domestic violence have decreased, Mike has volunteered to help those victims in the community. In addition, Mike generously gives his time in consultation with MidPenn attorneys regarding criminal matters.
