Conjunctivitis, more commonly known as "pink- eye", is one of the most common eye conditions. This condition occurs when the conjunctiva, a thin membrane that covers the inner surface of the eyelid and white area of the eyeball, becomes irritated. This causes the white area of the eye to become red, and irritated, in appearance.
