As we may have learned a certain kind of overview on Vaastu, or the preliminary conception of Vaastu and Feng Shui are already possessed on our part. What we may have to do is to learn a few tips that can be incorporated in our houses to bring happiness, health and wealth.
Vaastu uses directions to bring good health and laying out rooms based on these directions will help us improve our atmosphere and bring psycho-physiological change in the human body, mind and the atmosphere. Directions, colors and all objects in the house are used to bring good luck.
Bedrooms
Typically, beds are meant to be placed in the Southwest direction alone and there are scientific reasons that substantiate this fact. It is said that the one who sleeps in any of the two directions opposite the two directions in which you can actually place a bed, will get bad dreams and nightmares and might be constantly subjected to disturbed sleep.
Our brain is said to be an electromagnetic center and facing north east or north will lead to disturbances during sleep. Beds should be placed only in southwest direction as that is the only ideal place for a bedroom. One more practical reason is that, there is very little chance of sunlight to sift through in the southeast corner.
Hence, bedrooms which are meant for relaxation are normally kept cool. You may find that a southwest bedroom might be more cooler than any of the east facing bedrooms.
Furniture
Next to bedrooms, we place furniture in and around the house in most places. We place furniture at various places in our homes to feel comfortable as well as to make our house look appealing. Different kinds of furniture are placed around different parts of the house and furniture is the most used than beds.
When Dining Tables may be kept at northwest direction towards the kitchen, living room furniture may be kept in the southwest direction making the guests face or yourself face north, northeast and north directions.
Mirrors
Both Feng shui rules and Vaastu argue together that placing mirrors opposite beds is a scary thing to do. This is scary in the sense that if you place mirrors opposite your beds, you will get nightmares and constant disturbances during sleep.
Colors
Vaastu argues the usage of cool colors against the warmer colors and controversial and aggressive colors such as red, black etc are forbidden in bedrooms. In the east and also in the west, usage of black colors for the walls and ceilings is a rarity.
Colors used widely under the Vaastu are beige, pale blue, white, mild green etc. These are the colors used for painting walls and other colors that belong to the darker shades such as black to grey to brown and any other gradient in these color combinations are totally avoided, although in some cases grey is used, though not for the interiors but for the stairs and the terrace.
Vaastu surely brings good luck as well as good health. As Vaastu is most of common sense, it brings serenity in atmosphere the most.
