Visa
University students with English proficiency can participate in the Work & Travel USA program from all over the world. These students with J1 Visa Seasonal are eligible to accept employment in America for up to 4 months, a period that generally coincides with the summer vacation tenure in their resident country.
Travel
According to Mike Lombardi, the students are entitled to a 30-day travel period once the 4-month visa expires. This travel period, granted by the US government, allows the visiting students to explore America before they return to their own countries. They enjoy the travel period fully even though they are no longer eligible to work as the visa expires at the start of this period.
The Work & Travel USA program allows an employer to meet seasonal requirements and to fill a labor shortage.
