It is quite confronting isn’t it? We get so caught up in our so called lives! We work or we study, we do our chores, our jobs, our required tasks, and then? Well most people watch television... Because we are simply too exhausted to go out, to get dressed up, to make an effort. So little by little, we fall into a routine, a pattern of life. But that can change with a simple choice, and a simple phrase. Online games.
What Exactly are Online Games?
The phrase “online games” is pretty self explanatory, but for those of you playing at home, an online game is generally defined as a games played over some form of computer network, usually the Internet. So basically, to play online games, power up your computer, connect to the internet, choose a online game website (of which there are too many to name here) and search for the game that most tickles your fancy.
Of course there are different types of games. There are the online games that you can pay for. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last few years you should have heard about the all consuming, extremely addictive World of Warcraft (otherwise known as WOW). These games sometimes charge a one-off downloading fee, whilst others require a subscription of some type. But then there are the free online games. There are literally thousands of these games, with a multitude of categories to choose from. For all the kung-fu masters out there, try the fighting games; for the speed demons, there is racing galore; there are puzzles and brain-teasers; and shooting games for the expert marksmen. And for the escapade junkies – online adventure games. Within each category lie numerous different games with different themes and goals, different characters and different difficulty levels. Take the online adventure games for example. There are online adventure games for kids (including nice happy scenes where find things and build things and kill them by jumping on them), and then there are full-on, edge of your seat, hold your breath online adventure games for the bigger kids (or adults if you like)! The choice is yours!!
Why Should I Choose Free Online Games?
Well the simple answer is, for so many reasons, it’s not funny!
First of all, did I mention they were FREE online games?! Now, who, in their right mind, could walk past free entertainment and say, “You know what? I think I will pass!” That would be crazy! Especially when you have nothing to lose and everything to gain! I mean, especially in these difficult economic times. Everyone is tightening the proverbial purse strings, saving for all the “just in case” scenarios. So there is no need to splash out on entertainment, for that dash of excitement in your life, because it is FREE!
Then there is the convenience factor of course. There is no need to go and get dressed up, no need to do your hair, do your make-up, or even shower, for goodness sake (although we do recommend regular showering for hygiene reasons)! You do not need to brave the elements, buy specialist equipment or get lessons. All you need is a comfortable chair, your regular computer and access to the internet and you are off and running (metaphorically speaking of course!).
But most importantly, there is that all elusive feeling you get from playing free online games. That natural competitiveness that occurs when you pit your mind and wits against the formidable computer. When you make your move, play out your strategy and strike. The adrenaline, the excitement... The powerful feeling of being in control. And then... The amazing natural high that comes from victory, sweet victory! So if nothing else, boost your self-esteem, your self-confidence, and train your brain and your tiger reflexes, all at the same time!!
