A mother would not resort to curing but would resort to prevention which is a better thing than curing. The mother has a role to play when the baby gets a disease as the maturation stage from being a baby to a child is a period of vicissitudes and epochs. The mother has to manage the disease of the baby successfully.
The mother’s responsibility and role is very vital in providing medical assistance and care to the baby. There can be no medical treatment available, if the directions given are not carried out fully and if it is not taken care of due to negligibility. It will turn even worse, if the false prejudices are further haunting the baby. The major affections of the babies and children apply with great force since diseases are sudden in their attacks and enjoy rapid development.
It also demands rigid and proper administration of the baby’s health. The baby’s suffering is vastly reduced by the careful attentions showered by the mother with understanding. The needs of the baby must be anticipated and the fretfulness caused by the disease be alleviated with by the kindness and affection provided by the mother. The attention provided by the mother will divert the attention of the baby from the fretfulness and irritation.
There are several factors like compliance with prescriptions, administration of remedies, food and other general factors which are highly important. Also, holding no prejudices at the back of the mind, when the doctor is visited with the baby, the mother must give an unbiased, faithful and proper report of the symptoms and diseases seen in the baby which will amount to describing something as is seen.
An ignorant nurse, unless and until the physician is careful in the diagnosis, may inadvertently report erroneous symptoms which will create wrong impression on the minds of the doctor. The physician may be misled with wrong directions and this will turn even more injurious to the health of the baby. The doctor may not be able to take a cleaner diagnosis of the symptoms by examining the disease for a very long time.
Reporting of proper symptoms in an unbiased manner will be done only by a conscientious mother. The mother assumes responsibility in the prevention of diseases in the babies. The mother will be fully engrossed when it comes to talking about the disease of the baby when they are connected with the disease.
