Today you have a large choice to fly to almost any corner of Europe from any place for a much lower cost than it was some years ago. People with a standard income who wanted to fly away for some weeks with their family had no choice but to take a charter holiday. In addition to be the only alternative for many economical reasons, most found it safer to have a tour guided travel experience and language skills was not so up to date as in current days.
